Oh Boy! Olsen's Look for Less?

Believe it. The Olsen's have teamed up with JCPenney to create a more affordable junior line. Having read the news off the Cut, a few days ago, it has been confirmed. Olsenboye, will launch on Nov.6th online and in 50 retailers for a limited time. With a full roll out in February. I am hoping it is a cheaper version of the Row, as I'm sure we all are.

Sneak previews have been happening for the past three days here in NYC, and sadly, I've somehow missed "the truck." Probably better that way. I'm sure if I saw MK&A, I would've done unnecessary damage.

[I've never been to a JCPenney store and am hoping my curiosity will be filled online]. Stand by.

Curious? Check out the video of the twins introducing Olsenboye on Good Morning America.

Moving & Shaking

I just realized how much time I let pass without updating. I can't believe we're at the end of October already! This year has just flown right past me and has by far been one of the quickest years ever. There's been a lot of changes and movement that have kept me really busy. But I'm back and to kick things off, I want to let you know that my sister's jewelry line 102M will re-launch on November 1st! Mark your calendars because her pieces will be limited and you don't want to miss out!

“Are you sure this world is for you? And are you sure you are the right person to survive in this world—the world of fashion—a world with no rules, no laws? Answer that question honestly for yourself. Are you ready to accept injustice? The idea of the fashion industry may look better from the outside. It can look like the world of dream jobs—for a very happy few.” -Karl Lagerfeld

"This has been a labor of love. Taking the pictures, editing the pictures, arranging the pictures, doing most of the writing while I was still in Phoenix after my Dad died. It's hard to put into words how one feels looking at their own work presented like this - so I won't even try." - Scott Schuman on the release of his book, "The Sartorialist"

The book comes out August 12th in the U.S and early September worldwide.

IRL: In Real Life Photo Shoot

IRL: In Real Life, if you could enter a store, Hayden- Harnett and try on anything YOU wanted, accessories included, what would you pick?

You're thinking, easy! Right?! Well... continue on.

Yesterday, I was able to partake in Hayden-Harnett's summer IRL series, where you are your own stylist! Enter the cute boutique studio/store in Brooklyn and pick out pieces you would love to wear. This, I thought would be a piece of cake, since I love to coordinate outfits, however it was not. The girls were very lovely and extremely helpful, I felt a little pressured into choosing THE PERFECT OUTFIT. Helloooo! as Bruno would say, the IRL is a part of their weekly newsletter and well I obviously wanted to look good.

I think the hardest part of choosing an outfit and styling myself was that I am a bit edgier than the collection. And so I had to try and 1) go against the flow of what I would normally wear 2) try to find something close to my style. This I found to be a little challenging.

I was torn between a few outfits and unsure of how many we can do for the photo shoot, I ended up going with this dress. Very versatile, flowing, easy, breezy look and extremely hot back. I'm sucker for open back/backless dresses! I accessorized with a trench coat, cute heels that could be a little taller and a gorgeous ring! I wish I had my necklace from 102M to complement the open neckline.
I picked the dress because it was one of those pieces that you can just roll out of bed and throw on knowing it will look good.

As I walked away from the photo shoot and am here writing about my experience, I am wishing I would've gone with my gut and chose a different outfit. Like this or a cute wrap dress that is not shown on the website. But what can you do, it's over and the newsletter is probably just about to get sent out. I had a lot of fun, great experience and extremely great idea!

Thank you Hayden-Harnett! You guys should do one for the fall!

*I just sent in my interview and am waiting for them to send out the newsletter. I will keep you all posted let you know how it turns out.
It's up! Click here to check it out!

Cycle On This Way

This picture made me smile 1) because we toyed with the idea of renting bikes one day but was unsure how it all worked and 2) I've never seen anyone look this good on a bike. Wow.

I wish I took more pictures while in Paris of the locals there.

Too Hip To Sway?

I love the rock'n'roll lifestyle, the hipster ways, and the look and attitude they carry. I have always considered myself more "downtown' than "uptown." But after Sunday night, I was left with a huge question mark over my rocker chic persona.

Sunday night, a friend and I trot downtown to Sway. I am rocking my new silk cargo pants, which I love and ready for the night ahead. We enter and Sway is dark and crowded with Smiths|Morissey taking over the speakers. Everyone is having a great time, dancing, singing, dancing, singing and... smoking. So really, nothing is terribly wrong except for the fact that I have silk pants on.

The entire night, I only had two thoughts that occupied 90% of my mind, 1) "I swear, if someone burns a hole in my pants I will be so mad! 2) Wait, how are they smoking inside?" This kept me from dancing a few dances with some fellas and lead me to this question, "Am I too hip to sway?"

Haven't come up with an answer but I'm hoping, I'm not.
Sorry for the lack of posts! Been on a mini hiatus- I'm blaming the crazy fickle weather we're having here in NYC. * And I was away for awhile. After my runaway to Paris- I made a visit home to Chicago and then... you'll never believe it, went into the country. Like country grammar country- Door County, WI. Where? Exactly.

I have to admit, it was very nice, serene, breathtaking sunsets and best of all, spent quality time with my family. Haven't been on a family vacation in a while. We ( my sister and I) managed to pack a huge tote bag each for a night's stay and got made fun of by my parents who, shared a small tote. Ha. And, with that- here's to Chatada being back.

Nice Kicks

I'm kicking myself in the butt for not getting out to Bloomingdale's for the KSwiss+ Nylon Guys event hosted by none other than Mr. Ed Westwick aka Chuck Bass.

I don't even wear sneakers but would've totally bought a pair of KSwiss just to meet him. ha. You know you would too, wouldn't you?

Up Up Up and Away!

I can't believe the time has come already! All week long, I wanted to fast forward to Saturday, May 23rd! Well, my dream has finally come true as I get ready to leave for Paris tonight! I may post from there. Although it will be hard typing as I will be holding a baguette in one hand and a glass of vino in the other. If not, I will definitely post upon my return!

Wishing you all a great Memorial Day weekend!

Well-Heeled

If you know me, you would know that I am usually always in heels and well being a girl, I have a minor obsession with just that, heels. The taller the better! hahaha. It started off as a self-conscious/ illusion obsession. Your legs look skinner, feel taller, you get it. I honestly think I can walk/run faster in 4" shoes than I can in custom made Nike Shocks. So anyways, I was doing my daily read on The Sartorialist, when my inspiration for this post came along. Photos of other women, who also share this obsession and how they pull it off.

I had "Cinderella Man" as my status on gmail, and my friend chats me with, "Cinderella Man! haha. He's so Fob-tab-u-lous!" I died because 1) I was just thinking, "hmmm what to title the post?" 2) That's THE perfect way to put it! " So thank you!
*He also called me a cougar, because I have a mad crush and well he's quite young. You have to admit, he has the charming, irresistible smile that just left you crushin too.

Why Are You Over There, Staring At Me? When I'm Just Sitting Here?

Background info: I have a major problem with people watching. What can I say, I'm a curious person.

SO! It's about 10:00pm, just getting back from LAX and decided to take the subway home. I often prefer taking the subway versus ground.

I get to Howard Beach and lucky me, the train is sitting there, waiting for me. Yes! On another thought, YES question mark I get in and to my surprise, it's packed. Yes, I'm the one, scoping out the seating scene before entering, deciding who the safest, cleanest person is I could sit next to. Immediate target.

Three immediate thoughts as I enter the selected train car, 1) "Crap, is this train not working?" (There was a sign indicating, "Not in Service"),Everyone else is on. Confused. I get on right? 2)Maybe... I should've just taken a cab, damnit. 3)Oh, good that guy was in front of me buying a metro card. Safe.

Yes, I'm not going to lie, the crowd was a bit scary at the same time interesting. The best seat in the house, a seat away from the drunk man passed out snoring. I think I had "FEAR" written all over my sun kissed face. I sat there listening to my IPod, trying to appear cool, calm, collected. Yet my eyes kept drifting and kept locking eyes with people I probably shouldn't be locking eyes with. More thoughts: 1) Why is he looking at me? Is he looking because he saw that I was looking? 2) How do I break the eye contact without looking like.... Oh who cares, Break the eye contact! 3) Omg, I keep staring but I can't help it.
And as I continued to stare, I like to call it people watching for the next 45 mins, the one line from MA$E, "Looking At Me" circa 1998 kept popping in my head, imagining that this what the people were thinking, "little girl, Why are you over there, staring at me, when I'm just sitting here?"

Paris!Paris! Paris!

I'm off to Paris in 20 days and scared that I won't be making the flight back. So more, it's like I'm running away to Paris in 20 days!
It's always been a place I've always wanted to visit and if I could, I would pack up my things (bb, mac book) and move there. What's stopping me? That I'm not sure and cannot answer. I'm scheduled to return May 29th... Will I make it back? Stand by, I may be "chatad-ing" from Paris!

In preparation for my trip, a few looks I pulled from Sartorialist, that will help me with my packing. * This will be on an going series.
